Bite Communications adds Spil Games to its consumer portfolio

23 July 2012: Global leader in online gaming Spil Games, which has over 180 million monthly unique users, has appointed Bite Communications to handle a European brief in the UK and France with a view to broadening this remit in the second half of 2012.

Bite’s brief is to raise the profile of Spil’s social gaming platforms to both consumer and B2B audiences. Following a competitive three-way pitch, Bite began work in its French and UK offices on July 1st. For the B2B audience Bite is tasked with educating advertisers on the innovative channels and campaigns that social gaming can offer. For the B2C audience Bite will be driving campaigns which encourage consumers to play games on Spil Games’ platforms; in particular ‘tween’ site GirlsgoGames.com, the biggest gaming platform for girls in the US and one of the largest in Europe.

Spil Games serves three primary audiences across its branded social gaming platforms – tween girls, teenagers and families. The company works with both advertisers and other developers who are seeking to reach an engaged audience.

The Bite team will report into Scott Johnston, Head of Global PR at Spil Games who is based in Hilversum, Netherlands and who reports to Ashley Douglas, Spil’s newly appointed Director of Corporate Communications. Douglas joined Spil Games in June from Harman International where she was Senior Public Relations Manager for Harman’s Lifestyle Division, EMEA, Russia and India.
